If my grandmother would have let others
Daunt her from her dreams
How would my life have been?
She raised my mother
Gave her what she needed
So that my mother could do the same
She was the teacher
My mother bless her heart
Did what she thought was right
Now she realizes she might have been wrong
It is my turn in the present
To do what’s right for my child
That means making MYSELF
So WE can survive
I had her at an early age
I was a dub
Yet I was ready
And wanted her more than anything
Now that she’s here
I have to do me
So she can have the world
So I can give her everything
My dreams will not be deterred
Just because she’s entered my world
I will work harder
Because my motivation is stirred
