A Hot Ghetto Mess..
The lil girl gettin' it would have been me at my daddy's n' nem house lol...I remember many a day when my mom would catch me on the block droppin' it like it was hot. She would yell from our front porch "Get yo fast ass in this house."
If I wasn't shuffle ball steppin' or doing moves that involved jazz hands my mom wasn't having it..especially when I was that young.. Yet, I just wanted to pop and roll like my cousins in the projects..
At black gatherings especially where children are involved there will always be a dance contest. There will always be a winner who will feel like they are the shit cuz "they know how to dance good" and there will always be a loser who will feel so tiny because everyone will know that they can't jig. The loser will spend endless hours in front of a mirror from then on until they become confident that they can possible win a battle..
I was telling my mother that I want my baby girl to be able to dance..formally and I want her to be able to handle herself in these ATL streets. I started taking ballet, jazz, tap, modern when I was a wee one, and didn't stop until I graduated from HS. After seeing this video I don't know if I will be comfortable w/ my lil baby girl tootin' her booty all up in the air, while rollin her hips and ish.. But what can I say..I did it..
What do ya'll think about lil girls droppin it like it's hot?

i was a tomboy so all that dancing i didn't do, but my sisters could get it! lol
my daughter is 8 and i don't allow her to dance at all, i want her focused on those books and what's in them.
She loves the Cheetah girls, and Miley Cirus(hannah montana)and any other disney music so she doesn't really know about the other stuff.
I grew up in a diff day and time than my baby girl. I grew up on an actual block in the most broken down city in MI. It was the true hood, but my mom always made sure that I saw what was outside the walls in which we lived.
I had to prove myself, and I found dancing was one of the ways do do that. Anway, my baby girl won't be dancing like that lil bit for a while. She doesn't have any girl cousins either that could influence her..neway..
PS I love Hannah!!
it seems like when we were growing up the little girls danced but they also knew their was more to life...these days it seems like these little girls dance and can't tell you what 2+2 but they can pop, lock, & drop it! smh
& of course i blame the parents!!!!
You are so right..the parents are very much to blame. I guess my mom was right for telling me to stop shakin my ass on the block..lol
It wasnt as bad as most but I am never comfortable with little girls poppin it.
Just too young.
I think kids and just people in general are over exposed to sex. Just another obstruction in getting closer to God in my opinion.
Anyhow - no suga, haven't heard from Don. Have you?
I agree w/ ya'll..it is not okay.. tell that to baby foia about oooh 18 years ago..lol cuz I was gettin it..lmao
No sweetie..I haven't and I am worried.
Oh no- not appropriate for that little girl at all. Where is her mother???
My girls, if they want to dance, they can enroll in an actual dance school and learn ballet, jazz, African, ballroom and all that kind of dance. but that street stuff? Nah, nope, ain't having it!
have a great weekend hun.
LOL@ Jaded...I feel ya...
Thankx- LUV
