Ivy leaves spread across the floor
Drenched them with gasoline
And watch them burn
Because the poison is present
And now no one will learn
From the mistakes made
Or the blood shed
History repeats it’s self
This old man once said
“They will ignore that fact
And step in the same ol’ mess”
He was right because my eyes
Were opened
To what was and what is now
I’ve opened my horizons
Allowing the change
And willingly letting go of their past
I can’t change the world
I can only broaden me

it's hard enough for a person to change themselves, nevermind the entire world.
